DESTINATION - MAGNETIC ISLAND
An attractive option for that Schoolies holiday with a difference, Magnetic Island offers secluded beaches and kilometres of scenic walking tracks to explore. Take a guided sea kayak tour and you'll have the chance to see dolphins, turtles and sea eagles. Try skydiving, waterskiing or hire a jet ski. Maybe you would like to try scuba diving or snorkelling on your trip. There's also live music and evening entertainment on Magnetic Island with local talent ranging from rock to reggae.
Two thirds of Magnetic Island is national park featuring huge strands of Eucalyptus trees and abundant wildlife, including Koalas and varied birdlife. There are 23 beaches and bays with golden sand; many readily accessible but some providing for absolute privacy. Buses run regularly from one part of the island to another, whilst those who prefer to be independent can hire bicycles, mopeds, mini mokes and other vehicles.
