Alright you’ve finally made it, grade 12 babyyyy! This is your year, your moment, your time to shine. ⭐ Grade 12 is probably one of the most memorable years of your life (take it from someone who has been where you are 🥹) with so many exciting once-in-a-lifetime milestones.
But we’re not gonna lie it's gonna have its ups and downs, from energy drink fueled all-nighters to pre-exam freakouts, it may feel like the rest of your life is riding on what goes down this year, hello emotional rollercoaster. 🎢
But before you start spiralling, we're here to give you our foolproof guide on how you can not only survive grade 12 but absolutely thrive. 🤩 Because after all it's gonna be one of the best years of your life, so let's make it unforgettable. Period.
Soak it up, make the most of it
I know it sounds obvious, but just ENJOY IT! It's so easy to get lost in the chaos, but remember, this is your last carefree year of school, before the “real” adulting begins after graduation (yuck 🤮).
This year is full of so many exciting once-in-a-lifetime milestones to celebrate, like finally getting your Ps, after all the stress of driving lessons and your mum yelling at you while you attempt a reverse parallels park, trust me when I say the freedom of that first Macccas run is unmatched. 🤌🏼🍟
Not to mention formal, getting all dressed up with your best mates. The last few days of school after exams when you’ve got no worries, no stress, just living it up with your best mates and your fav teachers as the king and queens of the school. 🥹

Not to mention ending it all with the most perfect Schoolies vaycay, to the destination of your 🙏🙏🙏 dreams, an absolute core memory to add to the bank. You’ll truly never get a time like this again
Say YES for the plot
2025 is the year of saying YES. YES. YES to new experiences, new friendships, new hobbies, new adventures, and…to booking that Schoolies trip. 🎉 Life is too short for FOMO and you’re too young and fun to not be living it up this year, that’s just facts.
Say YES to going with your friend to that party, say yes to that long weekend camping trip, say yes to that late-night yo-chi run, say yes to that date, say yes to that last-minute plan, because the best memories always come from being spontaneous (we all know that). 🤪
Not to state the obvious but you only get one life, so make the most of it. These are the best years of your life, the time to make memories and stories that you’ll be telling your grandkids one day, don't look back with regret besties!!!

Self-care slay
This year is a big one. It’s easy to get swept up in all the excitement, but quite frankly you don't have time for crashouts.
That’s why self-care is so important. Make sure you're putting aside time for the most important person in your life, you! 💅 Even doing something small for yourself daily can make you feel 100% different. because being stressed and overwhelmed isn't cute. These are our fav forms of self-care, but find what works for you!
- Drink lots of water (your emotional support water bottle will be working overtime)
- Get your 8 hours in, like actually sleep. Plus did you know, that a recent study found that women need more sleep than men, so ahhh take your 9 hours. A good night's rest is a game changer
- Eat well, the occasional treat is necessary for mental health purposes obvs, but eating lots of fruit, veg and whole foods is essentially essential.
- Hot girl/boy/person walks. Headphones in, activewear on, it’s the best way to wind down after your latest study “sesh.”
- Listen to yourself and your body. It’s likely you're gonna feel all over the place from time to time, so it's important to listen in, go easy on yourself and do what your body needs.
- Try to reduce your screen time. I know it's hard but bestie I’m going to hold your hand when I say this, no 👏 more 👏 TikTok 👏 doom 👏 scrolling 👏 (unless it’s on the Schoolie's official TikTok hehe). Put the phone down and touch some grass.
Don’t take it all so seriously. But also do.
We know it might feel like there's a lot riding on this year, especially around exam times. The pressure to get a certain grade, or get into a certain uni can turn into straight-up anxiety. But let's be real, your grades are not the be-all and end-all, and your ATAR doesn't define you!!
Now we're not saying to drop out now and not put in any effort at all, the key is to find that perfect middle ground. Try your best, because that's all you can do, be proud of yourself for whatever you achieve and know that it'll all work out, no stress needed! Floating rock mentality 😌😌
Everything works out in the end, so don't let getting a grade that didn't quite live up to your expectations get you down.
You’ll look back in a year and laugh that you let your long answer response on an English exam keep you up at night, it’s not that deep trust.
Celebrate your wins… and your learnings
Don’t forget to celebrate the wins, no matter how big or small! Did you wake up just a little bit earlier so you could go for a walk before school? Win! Did you do a solid study sesh without getting distracted on your phone? Huge win! Did you just manage to show up for yourself, even if you didn't feel like it? Win, win win! 🥹
This year is gonna bring a whole lot of learning, so claps for you, you’re smart and capable, don't forget to be proud of yourself, no matter what. This year is hectic and youre smashing it! #inspirational

Treat yo self
Of course, the best way to survive year 12 is to treat yourself. What better way to do that than with your dream Schoolies vaycay? Because YOU deserve it. 🙌
Not only will it give you something to look forward to, but having the best week of your life booked and waiting for you just around the corner is the best source of motivation to get you through the endless homework and exams. Ehhhh.

Well there you have it, you are now fully capable of not only surviving the year, but thriving and making it one of your best yet! We’ll see you at Schoolies because of course, you need graduation plans that match the energy of this massive year! 🤩🤩
