Surfers Paradise ☀️
You’re staying right here, so let's start with what’s on your doorstep. The Surfers Paradise Beach is one of the best in the country, think a long stretching beach, sand, surf, volleyball nets, and the esplanade packed with plenty of places to eat 🍔
It sounds obvious but a morning at the beach with your mates, followed by a walk down Cavill Avenue, is genuinely one of the best ways to spend a day at Gold Coast Schoolies. Don't underestimate it just because it's right there.
Burleigh Heads 🌿
Burleigh is the one everyone talks about. The beach is beautiful, Burleigh Hill is the perfect spot to watch the surf, the national park walk takes about 30 minutes and has views that are genuinely hard to beat, and the strip of cafés and restaurants along James Street is some of the best on the entire Gold Coast 😋
Burleigh has a different energy to Surfers, it’s more local, more relaxed, and makes for a great day trip during Gold Coast Schoolies. You can get there on the tram, so it’s super easy. Go for a walk, hit the beach, have a swim, grab some food, and head back in time for the night’s celebrations.
Quick tip: download the My G: app before you go, it makes getting around, especially on the tram, way easier 📱
Tallebudgera Creek 🏝️
Tallebudgera Creek is a genuinely underrated spot and not enough Schoolies know about it. Just south of Burleigh, it’s a calm, sheltered waterway that runs alongside one of the best beaches on the coast. The water is clear, shallow, and perfect for a day where you just want to switch off 😌
Find a place on the sand, bring some food, and spend the afternoon there. It’s a completely different vibe to Surfers and exactly what you need midweek when you want to recharge without going too far.
It’s just on the other side of Burleigh Headland, so you can easily walk over from Burleigh or take the tram and a short bus if you’re coming from Surfers 🚌
Broadbeach 🤝
Broadbeach is Surfers' quieter neighbour and a really solid option for a day out. The beach is great, it’s less hectic than Surfers, and the eating and drinking around Broadbeach is some of the best on the coast 🍷
It’s only a short tram ride from Surfers and an easy place to spend a few hours. Grab some food, have a swim, wander around, and then head back in time for the night.
It’s for sure, a must visit during Schoolies on the Gold Coast.
If you’re keen on staying closer to Broadbeach, there are a few good options nearby, including The Penthouses from $625 per person, Wings Resort from $779 per person, and The Aubrey Boutique Apartments from $509 per person.
Pool Party @ The Hilton 🎉
A Schoolies week on the Gold Coast wouldn’t be complete without a proper pool party!
Think live DJs, huge crowds, poolside vibes, and one of the biggest events on the Schoolies calendar.
Make sure to keep an eye on your Schoolies.com booking for the Pool Party @ The Hilton add-on for 2026 👀
Please note: Pool Party @ The Hilton as a Party Pass inclusion has not yet been confirmed for 2026. Check your Schoolies.com booking for the latest available add-ons.

Nobby’s Beach ⛱️
Nobby's doesn’t get enough credit. It’s a smaller, quieter beach suburb just south of Surfers, with a genuinely great café and restaurant strip that’s worth checking out. The beach itself is less crowded than Surfers, the surf is usually good, and the food options nearby make it well worth the short trip.
If you want a relaxed morning with a good coffee and a swim, Nobby's Beach is the move ☕️ You can get there by hopping on the tram.
Snapper Rocks 🌊
If you're up for a bit more of a day trip, get yourself down to Snapper Rocks. The lookout sits right on the point and has some of the best views on the entire Gold Coast. The surf break itself is one of the most famous in Australia, so there’s almost always someone out there putting on a show 🏄♂️
Coolangatta is worth exploring too. It’s got great restaurants, pubs, bars, shopping, and a more local feel than anywhere else on the Gold Coast. It’s a solid day out if you want to venture a bit further.
You can get to Snapper by taking the tram to Burleigh and hopping on a bus from there.
Dreamworld 🎢
A Gold Coast Schoolies week without a theme park day is a missed opportunity. Dreamworld is the biggest and most iconic of the Gold Coast theme parks and makes for an absolutely full day out 🤪
Dreamworld was part of the official Schoolies.com Party Pass in 2025 and was a massive hit, so make sure to keep an eye on your Schoolies.com booking for the Dreamworld Day Out add-on for 2026.
Please note: Dreamworld as a Party Pass inclusion has not yet been confirmed for 2026. Check your Schoolies.com booking for the latest available add-ons.

If anyone in your group needs to grab something, or just wants to spend a few hours wandering around a proper shopping centre, Pacific Fair is the Gold Coast's choice and it’s massive. Over 400 stores, a great food court, and easy to get to from Surfers, Pac Fair has it all 🙌
It’s a good option for a chill day, and it's only a few stops on the tram from Surfers, so getting there is simple.

Harbour Town Outlets 🤑
If shopping is on the agenda, Harbour Town is where you'll find the best deals. It's an outlet centre which means proper discounts across a huge range of brands.
