8. How much deposit will I pay to book my Schoolies holiday?

With each booking we ask for a $200 deposit per person, which is non-refundable. A small price to pay for the best week of your life, really.

9. How do I pay the deposit?

We will ask for this deposit when you go through the process of booking on Schoolies.com. You can either use Mastercard or Visa, if you haven't got one yourself; get Mum and Dad to lend a hand (permission here is a must).

10. How do I make further payments?

Using your booking number and password that is sent in the confirmation email you get when you first booked, all roommates can login to Schoolies.com and make their individual payments, using either BPay, Visa or Mastercard. When you pick the organiser of your group, we suggest someone that can crack the whip and make sure everyone has got their stuff in order. It will be the organizers' responsibility to kick their friends in the butt and ensure that all payments are received 60 days before you check-into your Schoolies accommodation.

11. How do I know it's safe to use my Credit Card on your website?

Schoolies.com uses SSL for all credit card transactions. SSL is a secure method of transmitting information over the internet. Schoolies.com does not store any credit card information.

12. What is the deadline for final payment?

We need your payment 60 days out from your check in date, so mark that date in your dairies, phones and calendars this is one due date you do not want to forget about. You don't have to wait until 60 days before though! To help you budget for your upcoming Schoolies holiday, you can start making payments from the minute that you book.

13. What happens if I do not pay by the due date?

You're booking will run the risk of being cancelled. Avoid this at all costs, as we don't want to dash your dreams of having the most awesome week in your life.

14. How can I view my booking?

Just grab your booking number and password and head over to the website and log in. Don't forget these two things - write them on your forehead if necessary.

15. Can I make changes to my booking after it has been made?

Firstly, you will have to login to Schoolies.com to view your booking. There you will be able to change the following attributes of your booking:

  • Change the name of a group member
  • Change the email address or contact details of group members
  • Cancel a group member
  • Cancel rooms

This being said, we really do recommend however that you try and lock in a solid group from the outset to ensure there is minimal messing around, also to ensure that the organiser of your group doesn't go grey before the week starts.

16. How many people can stay in my room?

When you're browsing the room descriptions you will be told the maximum capacity of that room. This must be followed at all times, due to fire and safely regulations. Anyone found cramming more people into their room than allowed will face eviction and loss of payment, which is 10 different types of not good!

17. How much is the Bond and what is it for?

Your Bond ensures that if you mess something up in your room it gets replaced. The Bond is $200 per person and you will be able to claim approximately 10 days after you check out, subject to the approval of the building manager. Best way to get this money back, don't be stupid, treat your Schoolies accommodation like your own home.

18. What happens if I want to cancel my schoolies booking?

Firstly, cancelling schoolies would be lame. Cancel before 60 days out and all you will lose is your deposit. Cancel 60 days or less before check in and no amount will be refunded. We understand that stuff does come up so please notify us via email as soon as you can.

19. What happens if one of my roommates wants to cancel their place in the booking?

Members of your group can cancel by logging into Schoolies.com, using the group's reference number and password. If you do have someone drop out of your group, this means that those remaining roommates will have to pay more per person. However if you find a replacement for your friend that bailed on you, all you need to is change the name on the booking. In this case deposits will be transferred to the new person.

20. Can I change a name on my booking?

Yes you can, just log into schoolies.com using your booking reference and password and edit your details.

21. Why has the per person balance owing increased?

This probably means that one of your roommates has dogged you and now you have to pay for their share of the booking. The cost of accommodation is on a per-person rate not per room. Simple fix, find someone else to fill their spot, and change the details on the booking page. This will change the amount owing again.

22. What happens if I cancel or a room mate wants to cancel after full payment has been taken?

Not good, unfortunately this means that full payment and deposit will not be refunded.

23. Can I move my booking to a different date?

If there is still availability, you are able to move your booking to a different date. However, this will mean a $60 admin charge per person.

24. Can I move my booking to a different building?

If there is still availability, you are able to move your booking to a different building. However, this will mean a $60 admin charge per person.

25. What are house rules?

Each individual building will set house rules, by confirming your booking you have agreed to the house rules. These will be the rules that you will live by for the week of craziness that is schoolies. Remember, these rules exist to protect you and not to step on your fun.

26. What are my responsibilities as group organiser?

As a group organiser you are the boss. Your task is to make sure that everyone knows what's going on with payment, people and deadlines. You will also get the privilege of receiving all information regarding your booking first! Make no mistake there is a responsibility associated with this role, but once the week begins you have the ability to make people pay you back for your work, we're talking burgers, drinks and favours.

27. Do I need to take out Travel Insurance?

Schoolies can get a tad hectic, so taking out some Travel Insurance is highly recommended. This should also cover you if you anything happens during the week, or on your travels to and from the destination, as well as any unforeseen events that would lead you to cancel your booking, such as an embarrassing stack that you're not really proud of.

28. When will I receive my travel documents?

You will receive all of your documents 2-3 weeks before your check in date. Just enough time to get pumped about what should be one of the best holidays you have ever had – and maybe ever have.

29. How do I claim my Bond back?

To claim your bond, please log into your booking 10 days after departure. Select the Bond Refund button and follow the prompts. Please note Bond Refunds WILL NOT be processed by telephone or email
